Tourist at Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado attacked by an Elk

An elk went on a rampage attacking tourists in Colorado. At least two people were injured.

Estes Park is a town in northern Colorado. It’s known as a base for the Rocky Mountain National Park, home to wildlife including elk and bears. An Estes Park, Colorado, city employee is being hailed as a hero after he used his pickup truck to protect a group of tourists from a charging bull elk.

Not approaching wildlife, like an elk is true in general.

A reader said:  “When we were in Yellowstone earlier this month, rangers at Mammoth frequently had to tell people to move away from Elk. But rangers can’t be everywhere.

Common sense: just because they visit tourist centers or campsites does not mean you can encroach in turn.
