Turkey’s first pet-friendly beach to open in Bodrum

Turkey’s first pet-friendly beach is due to open in three months in the country’s western coastal town of Bodrum in the Muğla province, as an initiative by the local municipality, local media reported on Friday.

The 3,000-square-meter territory by the sea will include a pet playground and special pet-walking lanes.

Pets will be able to run, swim and frolic in the sand with their owners thanks to the “Nature Beach” project.

The attraction will also have a cafe, a parking lot, changing rooms and other typical beach amenities.

“In this project, which will be a first for Turkey, we will provide animal lovers who come to our town with their pets or who live here with an opportunity to experience a holiday that is joyful and entertaining together with their animals and children,” Bodrum Mayor Mehmet Kocadon said.
