Variety Cruises expands small yacht horizons with new destinations

Variety Cruises, named World’s Best Boutique Cruise Line by USA Today, announces the addition of Iceland and Spain & Portugal to their 2017 small yacht itineraries that currently focus on the Greek islands, the Adriatic Sea, Costa Rica/Panama, Cuba, the Seychelles, the Canary Islands, the Cape Verde Archipelago, and West Africa.

Founded in 2005 and based in Athens, Variety Cruises is a leader in defining the small ship cruise experience, operating a fleet of 11 fully owned vessels with a maximum of 72 passengers. With the debut of the Iceland and Spain/Portugal itineraries, Variety now boasts ten cruise destinations where guests explore secluded coves, renowned ports and legendary landmarks not accessible by larger ships. Scheduling leisure time and overnights in port highlight Variety’s commitment to providing a memorable and private yacht experience.

Yiannis Vontas, Senior Partner – Vice President Development and Marketing, Variety Cruises, said: “We are constantly looking for destinations which fit our small ship concept and deliver an experience which only a small ship can deliver. Iceland is getting to be a very popular destination for North Americans and we thought that our small ships will show it with a different perspective. Spain and Portugal are a classic in Europe travel but our passengers will visit these magnificent locations without the usual packing/unpacking of the Spain land tours. And we added 2 calls in less known Portugal, delivering a value packed program from the comfort of our small ship.”

For solo travelers or anyone just wanting a little “alone time,” Variety offers a personalized cruise experience not found on larger cruise ships. The crowd-free environment fosters socializing whether at the deck bar, open seating dining, or during excursions. Each yacht has an intimate ambiance and a community of like-minded fellow travelers. Known for its high passenger-to-crew ratio, Variety staff is able to cater to the needs of all its guests.

Honeymooners, what could be better than cruising on a trendy small yacht after the excitement of the wedding is over? Breathtaking sails, alfresco dining and late night stargazing add to the romance the newly married already bring onboard. Variety’s Honeymooner’s Package helps newlyweds celebrate by offering champagne, candle-lit dinners, king beds, free massage and 25% rate reduction for the bride. And to sweeten it even more, there’s a 10% discount for any anniversary celebrated on board.
