VietJet Air to launch direct flights between Delhi and Ho Chi Minh

Vietnam-India travel is set to increase with the planned launch of a direct flight between Delhi, India, and Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam, by VietJet Air. The service is expected to take off this summer in July of this year.

For the first time, Vietnam had a strong presence at the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) event that was held from February 15-17 in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India. Several agents and hotels shared information on the various tour possibilities and itineraries available to Indian tourists, while Indian agents were working to get more tourists from Vietnam to visit India.

Vietnam receives around 66,000 tourists a year from India. The two countries have strong historical and cultural links, specifically based on Buddhist ties, between the two nations, and Indian tourists are especially interested in visiting the 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Vietnam. These include the Central Sector of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long – Hanoi, Citadel of the Ho Dynasty, Complex of Hué Monuments, Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son Sanctuary, Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, and Trang An Landscape Complex.
