“Winter is coming to Brussels”… three months of pop culture in Brussels

From February to April, six large-scale events will be spotlighting Pop Culture in Brussels. The opportunity for the “geek” public to find their entertainment in 2.0 culture.

Rachid Madrane, responsible for the promotion of Brussels at the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, has been an active supporter of “Culture 2.0” in Brussels since 2016.

“Pop culture and urban culture have experienced unprecedented growth in Brussels in the last few years. They reflect the evolution of our society. Our capital must promote them just as well as other more classical cultures. I therefore place great importance on supporting their progress. The promotion of several major events that are taking place in Brussels in the coming months will allow us to really showcase pop culture”, stresses the minister. has been developing the “2.0 Culture” theme to diversify tourist options in Brussels. So, early this year, the city launched its new campaign under the title of “Winter is coming to Brussels” to bring Pop Culture front-stage.

Pop culture will be adding its particular spice to Brussels with a number of activities over the next 3 months:

 On 24 February, the Anima festival is to feature the best animation film at Flagey. The complete program: Anima – The Brussels Animations Festival

 On 25 and 26 February, Comic Con Brussels will bring together fans of American comics, science fiction or fantasy in Tour & Taxis. Comic Con Brussels

 From 3 to 5 March, Made in Asia, the show dedicated to Manga and Asian culture, and Youplay, the fair for games, videos and video games will welcome you to Brussels Expo. Made in Asia & Youplay

 On 10 March, the ‘Brussels Book Fair’, Foire du Livre de Bruxelles, will host its first night of pop culture.The program includes: meetings with authors, signings, live drawing sessions, cosplay competitions… Foire du livre de Bruxelles

 Finally, the 35th edition of BIFFF will attract enthusiasts of the genre at Bozar from 4 to 16 April. BIFFF
