Seychelles Tourism Minister makes news in Arabia

Talking about tourism and discussing a destination’s potential and relevance is always best achieved when one makes it in a television news program.

In an interview in Dubai, Seychelles Tourism Minister Alain St.Ange was questioned on the islands’ booming tourism trade and the growth now so evident from the UAE and the greater Middle East. Seychelles is recording 45% growth over last year’s figures from that part of the world on a year to date basis and this with 25,000 in visitor numbers. The Seychelles Minister gave credit to the excellent air access between Abu Dhabi with Etihad Airlines and Air Seychelles and Dubai with Emirates.

Talking about tourism and discussing a destination’s potential and relevance is always best achieved when one makes it in a television news program. On Sunday night, it was Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports & Marine Minister, who made it on Sky News Arabia to discuss the position of the tourism industry of the Seychelles. Minister St.Ange is in Dubai on his return leg from Morocco where he participated at the African Tourism Forum on sustainable tourism. His stop in Dubai will enable the Seychelles Minister to deliver the keynote address on tourism destinations at the Conde Nast Traveller Luxury Travel Forum 2016 on November 14.

The Seychelles Minister was invited to the Sky News Arabia Studios in Dubai at Dubai Media City for a live interview that lasted 7 minutes at the station’s news program.

“We have over two flights a day every day from Abu Dhabi and a further two flights from Dubai. We are but a four-hour flight away, and we do not require a visa for our visitors to enter Seychelles. We have a pristine environment with turquoise blue seas that is clean and clear, and we have powdery white sandy beaches that are also clean. We are just paradise,” the Seychelles Minister said live on air as the most spectacular pictures of Seychelles were being beamed to the Arabic world on Sky News.

Minister St.Ange also explained Seychelles’ sustainable tourism approach and the islands’ continued drive to consolidate its tourism industry.
