Association of Tourism Professionals Mauritius endorses Alain St.Ange for UNWTO Secretary election


Tourism Professionals of Mauritius throw their weigh behind Alain St.Ange for post of Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Association (UNWTO) 

The Association of Tourism Professionals (Mauritius) have come out supporting Alain St.Ange, the former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine of the Seychelles for the post of Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).

In this coming elections set for May this year, the Seychelles are up against Brazil, Mexico, Korea, Georgia and Zimbabwe for the post of Secretary General at the UNWTO.

In an endorsement letter forwarded to former Minister St.Ange, the President of the Association of Tourism Professionals of Mauritius (ATP) write:-

“I am writing to express my support to Alain St.Ange, former Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Seychelles for the post of Secretary General for the upcoming election of the UNWTO. 

Being the first President of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands Regional Organisation, we have got the opportunity to observe and evaluate his perspectives and his willingness in contributing to the tourism force.

We highly believe that he will bring excellent credentials to the new post of Secretary General of the UNWTO by successfully promoting tourism as a driver of economic growth, inclusive development and environmental sustainability and offer leadership and support to the sector in advancing knowledge and tourism policies worldwide.

With proud enthusiasm we will work to spread word to others of the value of his abilities”  writes Mr Daniel Saramandif, the President of the Association of Tourism Professionals of Mauritius.

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Candidate for the position of Secretary General of the UNWTO said he was delighted to receive support from the Tourism Professionals of Mauritius. “Like Seychelles, the island of Mauritius have a dynamic tourism industry and they work hard to keep on with the efforts of consolidating their industry. This democratic base support is a morale boost. The front line team of tourism is standing with the Seychelles candidacy. We are truly grateful and humbled” said Alain St.Ange.
