Dominica update post Tropical Storm Dorian

The Office of Disaster Management gave Dominica the all-clear from impacts of Tropical Storm Dorian on Wednesday morning. The flood watch cancellation was the last weather-related precaution to be made following the storm that came through the region on Tuesday, August 27.

Presently, all electrical issues have been resolved and electrification is restored to pre-TS Dorian status.  Similarly, there are no reported issues with telecommunications.

The road networks are open after the rivers subsided from heavy rains during the passage of the storm.

No tourism-related services providers have indicated any damage to their properties or incidents with their guests resulting from the storm.

Douglas Charles Airport is open to flights that service our residents and visitors.

Safety and security of Dominica’s people and visitors are of paramount importance to Dominica and it was reported that all is well on the Nature Isle.

Dominica sends prayers to the residents and islands who remain in the path of Hurricane Dorian for safety during its passing and minimal impacts to their beloved lands.
