Heathrow issues statement on UK and US aviation security changes

Heathrow Airport issued the following statement on UK and US aviation security changes affecting some routes today:

“The safety and security of our passengers and colleagues is our top priority and we work closely with the police and Government authorities to remain vigilant and to respond to any changes in the security situation. The changes announced today by the UK and US governments are not expected to have any impact on security procedures for those departing from Heathrow.

Passengers travelling to the UK from Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, and Saudi Arabia are advised to contact their airline with queries about any additional security measures they may experience at airports in those countries. For more details, please visit the UK Government’s website.
