India hotel CEO tells hospitality students: Learn from each other

Ranjan Banerjee, General Manager of Crowne Plaza, asked hospitality industry students and practitioners to learn from each other today during a meeting at the Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute in Delhi, India, as this would help all the stakeholders of the industry.

Banerjee said that it was important to add value so that the customer is satisfied. He was speaking as chief guest at the 15th Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble, where teams from 19 educational institutes of hospitality industry are taking part.

The GM pointed out that they were part of a dynamic industry and adding value to the customer was important with a smile and hoped that the participants would get good exposure at the three-day event.


Ranjan Banerjee pointed out that participation was important – confidence, passion, integrity, and resilience were important in the hospitality industry.

Apart from various hotels in India, the 45-year-old professional has also worked in Oman and Nepal.

R. K. Bhandari, Principal of the Chandiwala Institute, said that the iconic event leads to greater interaction among the competing teams. He said that the industry has come forward in a big way to back the ensemble, where various competitions, a quiz, floral decorations, hotel facility planning and designing, as well as fruit and vegetable carving competitions will be held.

Chefs and managers from Delhi and other hotels will be the judges.
