JAL revises flight frequency and fleet plans for fiscal year 2017

JAL Group (JAL) today announced revisions to flight frequency and fleet plans on international routes for fiscal year 2017 (ending March 31, 2018).

Commencing October 29, 2017, JAL will operate a second daily nonstop service between Tokyo (Haneda) and London (Heathrow). The second London service (JL041/042) with the earliest arrival times in both directions will provide customers with more options travelling to London and beyond, as well as also increase connection opportunities in Tokyo for the reverse route. Additionally, to meet growing demand, JAL will increase flight frequency between Tokyo (Narita) and Bangkok ((Suvarnabhumi) from October 29, 2017 through March 24, 2018. These new services will be operated with the airline’s well-received JAL SKY SUITE configured aircraft (*1), in order to provide both business and leisure customers with greater convenience and comfort.

Reservations and ticket sales begin July 14, 2017.

The JAL Group will continue to embrace new challenges to deliver greater customer convenience and comfort, enhance its networks, and improve the quality of products and services.

The following plans and schedules are subject to government approval.

Tokyo (Haneda) – London (Heathrow) route

In addition to current nonstop service between Tokyo Haneda and London Heathrow, hub airport of fellow oneworld® alliance member and joint business partner British Airways, the new daily service will strengthen JAL’s network to and from Europe.

As the new service (JL041) will depart from Haneda after midnight and arrive Heathrow the same day in the early morning, customers will be able to use both the day before departure and after arrival to the fullest; plus smooth, convenient flight connections will be possible both ends of their journey. JAL will provide customers with more travel convenience, and comfort by creating a favorable environment for sleep in the cabin of JAL SKY SUITE configured aircraft.

The departure time from Heathrow on the JL042 will be in the morning, and arrival time into Haneda will be early morning of the next day. Customer choice will be greatly enhanced, as both new flights offer completely different departure and arrival timings to JAL’s existing service between the two countries.
