Long live the King: The latest from Thailand

Long live the new king in Thailand ! The Thai parliament started the process of naming Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn as the new king of Thailand.

Maha Vajiralongkorn born 28 July 1952 as of today is the King of Thailand and the tenth monarch of the Chakri Dynasty



Following his father’s death on 13 October 2016, Vajiralongkorn asked for a delay before his accession, stating that he needs “time to prepare before being proclaimed as the new king”.He was officially acknowledged as the new king in a special session of the National Legislative Assembly on 29 November 2016.
