Ottawa Welcomes the World

Canada’s capital is home to more than 120 embassies and high commissions, and next year many of them will take part in special events to showcase their own national heritage and customs.


In partnership with the Ottawa 2017 Bureau, Mayor Jim Watson has reached out to foreign ambassadors and dignitaries to encourage them to take part in what is being called ‘Ottawa Welcomes the World’.

Throughout 2017 there will be a number of one-day events in Ottawa’s Lansdowne Park that will celebrate the culture of each participating country through music, food, cinema, dance and more.
