Samrat Datta, New General Manager Taj Palace Delhi

Taj Palace, New Delhi welcomes Samrat Datta as its new General Manager. An established leader in the hospitality industry, Samrat brings more than 20 years of hotel experience to Taj Palace, New Delhi – a hotel with luxurious accommodations and unrivalled service. In his new role, Samrat will be responsible for the continued success of the hotel, overseeing the day-to-day operations and providing exceptional guest service at one of India’s most loved hotels’ in the Nation’s Capital city.

Samrat is a company veteran having spent over 20 years at Indian Hotels Company Limited. He moved to this role from Taj Bengal, Kolkata. Prior to that he was the General Manager at Taj Jai Mahal Palace  Jaipur when under his leadership the hotel won the Ministry of Tourism’s Incredible India award in 2010 India’s Best 5 Star Hotel. He has also worked in global markets with some renowned international brands.

Speaking on his new role, Samrat said, “Taj Palace, New Delhi is a perfect embodiment of world-class service and hospitality. I am looking forward to working with the dynamic team in strengthening its position as one of Delhi’s most iconic hotels.

A graduate from IHM Kolkata, Samrat also successfully completed the GM Development Program at IIM – Ahmedabad and Nanyang University, Singapore. Samrat has been awarded the Brand Leadership award in 2017. Samrat has an affinity for local arts and culture. In his free time he enjoys jazz, contemporary Indian and old classics.
