Seychelles showcased at London event hosted by UK’s biggest and most popular casino

Seychelles received some added visibility as Club Liberté set in the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Baie Lazare, was among a handful of casinos represented at an event aiming to showcase some of the best casinos found in destinations across the globe. The two-night event held on March 13 and 14, in London, was organized by the Hippodrome – UK’s biggest and most popular casino.

The invite-only event was attended by some 120 of the Hippodromes’ major VIP clients.

Club Liberté Casino received the support of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) office in the UK. The STB Director for UK & Ireland, Christine Vel, and Marketing Executive, Eloise Vidot, were present alongside Club Liberté’s David Marshall.

Seychelles had a prime spot at the event, where guests were presented with eye-catching images of the beautiful sceneries of the island destination as soon as they entered the room. A video showcasing both the destination and the Club Liberté Casino was also playing in the background. This meant a constant flow of people, creating a vibrant atmosphere at the Seychelles table, as guests stopped by to enquire about various aspects of the destination.

As an added attraction, the Trois Des Frères Distillery, the makers of the famous Takamaka Bay Rum had sponsored some of their finest aged St Andre rum for the event and guests visiting the Seychelles stand were treated to some rum tasting. This sparked much interest including that of the Hospitality Director of the Hippodrome, a rum connoisseur, who was very impressed with the St André rum produced by the Seychelles’ distillery.

Commenting on the potential for Seychelles to attract some of the high-profile gamblers who attended the event, Mr. Marshall said: “If some of these players can be persuaded to come to the Seychelles, they will not only play in the casino but will spend on other items – air fares, hotels, restaurants, local tourism, deep sea fishing, etc. The possibilities are infinite as these are high-net-worth-individuals who like to spend on quality.”

For the Seychelles Tourism Board, the event provided another platform for the team to have access to this niche market of high-net-worth clients.

STB’s Eloise Vidot said: “We were very much encouraged by the enthusiastic reception received from the guests and we hope that the event has helped to place both the Club Liberté Casino and the destination firmly on their list of potential holiday location.”

The event, which has been described as a resounding success, culminated with a lottery draw, where once again the Seychelles was placed in the limelight as it was the only exhibitor that offered a holiday & Casino package. The lucky winners of a trip to the islands with accommodation at the DoubleTree by Hilton Seychelles Allamanda Resort & Spa and Four Seasons Resort Seychelles will be visiting the destination later this year.

For Club Liberté Casino, this has also been the start of a great relationship with the Hippodrome, which will be bringing 20 of their top players to Seychelles. The one-week trip is expected to materialize at the end of May this year.
