Terror in Berlin: Truck attacked crowded Christmas Market

It’s a must-visit tourism attraction. The famous “Gedaechniskirche,” also known as Memorial Church, is located on Kurfuerstendamm, the major shopping street in Berlin and the center point of the Western part of the city. The ongoing Christimas Market is not only the focus for Berlin visitors, but a fun place for local families to take their children or enjoy a hot wine.  The travel and tourism industry today suffered another attack. This time it’s the German capital of Berlin, and it’s the Christmas Market of the city.

Tourists from all over the world, along with local Berliners with their kids, were enjoying the Christmas Market next to the famous Memorial Church, when a truck attacked.

At least 48 people were injured and 12 have been confirmed dead after the truck was finally brought to a stop. It reminds one of what happened not too long ago in Nice, France: Terrorists were using a truck as a weapon of mass destruction.

Police have confirmed in a press conference to the German media that the incident is related to terror.

Both the Berliner Zeitung newspaper and the Berliner Morgenpost reported the truck ran into the market outside the landmark Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church on Monday evening.

A photo posted by the Morgenpost showed damaged tables and stalls.
