The Ute People Knew: Glenwood Hot Springs Resort was Big Medicine

Located on the east end of the world’s largest hot springs pool, the new area is designed with adults in mind and features five spacious new pools, a shade pergola, and an outdoor lounging area with a hearth. The pools will be available to all ages until late when it transitions to adults only.

The Ute Indian people were some of the earliest discoverers of this therapeutic hot spring and named it Yampah, meaning “big medicine.” Yampah Source Spring and the resort’s drinking spring are located within the Yampah Mineral Baths area and have been enhanced with landscaping and signage that tells the story of this heritage property.

The five Yampah Mineral Baths pools have 15 naturally occurring minerals .
