Tourism Security in Uganda

Police units and other security service personnel have been deployed in not just Kampala but other urban centers across the country too to assure locals and visitors from abroad of their safety over the upcoming holiday season.

The dedicated Tourism Police has also beefed up their presence around key tourism installations, national parks, safari lodges and hotels to leave nothing to chance as tourists and locals alike get into the celebration mood.

At the same time have hotel owners and operators of shopping malls but also the churches in the country been told to be extra vigilant to prevent any security incidents which might threaten the safety of the population.

Uganda is one of the safest countries to visit for foreign tourists and over the recent long weekend in Kenya – the country celebrated its Independence Day on Monday the 12th of December – there was a major inflow of visitors from Kenya, both expatriates and Kenyans.

New attractions, like the golf course at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa are now making waves across the tourism industry and adventure activities like the zip lining of the Mabira Forest ‘Super Skyway‘ have brought the country back into focus of international travelers.
