True Blue is truly gold in Grenada

True Blue Bay Boutique Resort is a family owned and operated property on the Caribbean island of Grenada. Located on the South Coast, this unique and colorful resort is set amongst tropical gardens overlooking the spectacular waters of True Blue Bay. Owners Russ and Magdalena Fielden and their dedicated team warmly welcome guests who quickly become friends and part of an extended family, making True Blue a Grenada home away from home.

Green Globe certified and Green Leader True Blue Bay Boutique Resort recently won the Grenada Chamber of Commerce Environmental Excellence Award. This is the third time and the second consecutive year that the family run resort has won this prestigious award.

Marie Fielden, leader of the Green Team says, “We are so excited about this award. However, it is not the goal of our green efforts to win awards – it’s only a boost that lets us know we are on the right track. Taking care of the environment is a passion of the True Blue team and we are so happy that the GCIC recognises this effort. We hope it encourages other businesses to challenge us for 2018 (but we are gunning for a 3 year consecutive trot).”

2017 also marks five consecutive years of the boutique resort being Green Globe certified and recognized as a Gold Member. Green Globe Gold Membership means that not only has the boutique resort consistently met the base Green Globe requirements in Sustainable Management – Social/Economic; Cultural Heritage and Environment categories but has consistently been scored between 70% and 80% green throughout its time of being Green Globe certified.

Lead by the True Blue Green Team the resort’s staff, management and guests work together to consume less harmful fossil fuel produced electricity by powering 8% of its operations with solar energy and recycling grey water to irrigate its gardens along with numerous other green efforts. True Blue has also banned the use of styrofoam on site since it began operations over eighteen years ago.
