Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett is adding his voice to calls by the police for motorists to exercise care while travelling on the nation’s roadways. This as the Minister expressed deep regret at the passing of two employees of the Bahia Principe Hotel, who were involved in a two-vehicle collision along the Dunn’s River main road on November 22, 2016.
“I am extremely saddened to hear of the untimely death of Jodian Duncan and Shanique Grey. I also regret the fact that several other members of staff have also been injured and wish them a speedy recovery. This is a very unfortunate incident and I offer my condolences to the family and friends of those who have died. I would like to appeal to all drivers to exercise care as they travel along our roadways to reduce fatalities,” said Minister Bartlett.
The Minister also expressed appreciation for the contribution the deceased made to the development of Jamaica’s tourism sector.
“On behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and its agencies, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for their dedicated service and contribution to the country’s tourism industry over the years. Their invaluable service undoubtedly contributed positively to the growth and success of Jamaica’s tourism sector,” the Minister continued.
