Landing at Heathrow: Britain’s first arrivals blow dry bar

Celebrity hairdresser Bradley Smith taps into growing demand for the blow-dry, with first hair salon at Heathrow exclusively for Terminal 5 arrivals

Celebrity hairdresser Bradley Smith is to open the first arrivals blow dry bar inside Heathrow Terminal 5.

The stylist, whose celebrity clients include actress Ayda Field, wife of Robbie Williams, won the prestigious three-year contract after a competitive pitch process against high profile brands.

The Bradley Smith Hair Express Bar is now offering blow-dries in 15 minutes – tapping into the trend for treatments on-demand.

The salon will offer a walk-in service but appointments can also be made via the Bradley Smith website so clients can sit down as soon as they arrive in the UK.

Bradley Smith, said: “This is all about giving customers what they need when they land at Heathrow.

“Arrivals should be about getting the essentials as quickly as possible. Speed and efficiency are key, especially for business travelers arriving for meetings.”

Bradley, who as built up a loyal client base among cabin crew at his existing salon at Sofitel London Heathrow, added: “Altitude, cabin pressure and climate control wreak havoc on hair. The last thing anyone wants when they land is for their hair to look like it’s just travelled 3,000 miles.

“The Express Bar means you can get a 15minute blow-dry while you wait for your taxi and look better when you leave the airport than when you took off.”

The Bradley Smith Hair Express Bar, will be located in the arrivals hall opposite Heathrow Express, will also offer manicures, threading and massage services as well as men’s cuts in just seven minutes.
It’s part of a growing trend for on-demand beauty services in under half an hour that have seen huge growth in recent years.

Heathrow’s Retail and Service Proposition Director Chris Annetts said: “We are delighted to welcome Bradley Smith’s Express Bar to Terminal 5 arrivals.  With so many of our passengers heading straight from the airport to the office or an event in London, this new bar will be the perfect way of ensuring they feel refreshed and look their best.”
